Who they see: The Radiation Medicine Program (RMP) in the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is the largest radiation treatment centre in Canada. Our clinical program sees patients in consultation across all anatomic tumour sites, including: breast cancer, endocrine tumours, gastrointestinal cancers (including gastric, liver, pancreatic, bowel and rectal and anal), genitourinary cancers (including prostate, kidney, bladder), gynecologic malignancies (including cervical, endometrial/uterine, ovarian, vaginal/vulvar), head-and-neck cancers, lung cancers, lymphoma and myeloma, and skin cancers/melanoma. We also serve as a regional and provincial resource for head-and-neck cancer, brain tumours (including gamma knife, radiosurgery, and spine radiation), soft tissue sarcomas, total body irradiation (stem cell transplants), pediatric radiation oncology (in partnership with Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children), and as a national referral centre for eye tumours (ocular oncology).

Additional information: The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is one of the largest comprehensive cancer treatment facilities in the world and the largest radiation treatment centre in Canada. The Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology (DMOH) and the Radiation Medicine Program (RMP) are among two of the many key services provided by the cancer centre and are currently accepting referrals via eReferral. The Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology (DMOH) is an academic and service unit within the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre/University Health Network (UHN) and Sinai Health System (SHS). Our interdisciplinary, inter-professional team is organized into cancer site groups and works collaboratively as part of each patient’s health care team. Princess Margaret site groups receiving referrals via the referral network include solid tumor [Breast, CNS, endocrine, GI, GU (incl. testes), Gyne, Head and Neck, Lung, Phase-1, sarcoma, Skin/Melanoma)] and malignant hematology (lymphoma, myeloma, autologous stem cell transplant and leukemia). For allogenic stem cell transplant and cellular therapy (eg. CAR-T etc.) please follow recommendations on the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre website. If unsure, please call 416-946-4575.
