About this medication

Relieves occasional reflux by forming a barrier over stomach contents.

How to use it

Follow the formulation-specific label, commonly after meals and at bedtime. Liquid and tablet doses differ.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Discuss the exact ingredients during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Before you use it

Avoid ingredient allergy; significant kidney disease requires advice because magnesium can accumulate.

Possible side effects

Belching, nausea and bloating; excess magnesium may cause diarrhoea.

When to get help

Trouble swallowing, unexplained weight loss, bleeding or ongoing chest pain need assessment.

Other medicines and products

Separate from medicines such as tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones and digoxin; confirm the interval.

Missed doses, storage and accidental exposure

Follow your own product’s missed-dose instructions. If you are unsure, ask the Care365 clinical team before taking an extra dose. Contraceptives, injections and modified-release medicines may need a specific plan.

Keep the original packaging and follow its storage, expiry and disposal instructions. Keep medicines away from children and pets. Ask about refrigeration, after-opening limits and safe sharps disposal when relevant.

For suspected overdose or accidental swallowing, contact poison control or urgent medical care promptly. Call emergency services for breathing difficulty, collapse or a seizure.
