Addiction & Substance Use Treatment Online — Ontario Virtual Care

One confidential assessment for substance use and gambling — tick what applies, and we only ask about that.

Most people dealing with one of these are dealing with more than one, and they affect each other. This assessment covers opioids, alcohol, cocaine and other stimulants, benzodiazepines and sleeping pills, cannabis and gambling in a single intake, so the Care365 clinical team sees the whole picture and can plan around it — including overdose safety, withdrawal, injection history and what is already being prescribed to you elsewhere.

Quick Self-Check

Answer a few quick questions. This isn't a diagnosis — a real clinical assessment is the next step either way.

How We Work

The Care365 clinical team reviews the full intake, confirms the reported history and identifies the safest next step. That may be starting or restarting treatment, getting through withdrawal safely, a supervised taper, harm-reduction support, or referral to addiction medicine or concurrent-disorders care — and, where stopping suddenly could be dangerous, monitored follow-up rather than an abrupt change.

Complete a short online assessment

Answer real, condition-specific questions — takes a few minutes, no appointment needed to start.

The clinical team reviews your answers

A member of the Care365 clinical team reviews your case, typically the same day — not an automated approval.

Get your treatment plan

When appropriate, your prescription is sent directly to your preferred pharmacy, with clear next steps.

What Our Clinical Team Can Assess

Safety first

Overdose, severe intoxication and self-harm are asked about before anything else, with emergency guidance shown immediately when it matters.

Only the sections that apply

Tick opioids, alcohol, stimulants, sedatives, cannabis or gambling — each has its own questions, and you are only asked about what you tick.

Withdrawal and treatment history

Withdrawal right now, past detox or programmes, buprenorphine or methadone before, and what is being prescribed to you elsewhere.

Practical circumstances

Housing, drug coverage, transport and the other things that decide which treatments are realistic for you.

Common Symptoms

  • Wanting to cut down or stop opioids, alcohol, stimulants, sedatives or another substance
  • Withdrawal symptoms, strong cravings, or needing more to get the same effect
  • A past overdose, using alone, or no naloxone kit where you live
  • Gambling that is hard to control, or money owed because of it
  • Substance use affecting your relationships, work, housing, health or safety

Treatment Options

These options may be prescribed after a real clinical assessment — this is general information, not a recommendation to use any specific medication without one.

Non-medication options

  • Addiction medicine or concurrent-disorders referral
  • Harm-reduction support and naloxone
  • Psychosocial and behavioural treatment
  • Supervised taper or monitored follow-up — When stopping suddenly could be unsafe.

Everything in One Place

  • Easy online scheduling — submit your assessment in minutes
  • Real clinical review, not an automated approval
  • Prescriptions sent directly to your preferred pharmacy when appropriate
  • 100% virtual — no travel, no waiting room

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to choose just one problem?
No. Tick everything that applies. The assessment is built for people dealing with more than one thing at once — that is the usual situation, not the exception.
What if I am already on methadone or Suboxone, or in a programme?
Include it. Knowing what is already prescribed, and by whom, prevents duplicate or overlapping treatment and helps the clinical team coordinate rather than start over.
What if I am overdosing or severely unwell right now?
Do not wait for an online assessment. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. If opioids may be involved and naloxone is available, use it and stay with the person.
Is smoking covered here?
Smoking and vaping have their own assessment with prescription support. This intake asks whether you smoke because it changes your options, and points you to that assessment.
